MISSION ORGANIZATION

Usually, Saturdays are my lazy days. I work all week long, take Sunday off to rest, and I do NOT feel like cleaning on Saturdays. However, now that I am officially on maternity leave for the next 3 1/2 months, I am okay with staying busy around the house ANY day of the week! This Saturday, Brody helped me clean the kitchen, mop the floors, do MOUNTAINS of laundry, and vaccuum. We also took on an organization project in his room.

My sweet Nana gave me a gift card to Lowes for my birthday, and I was able to get a lot of things around the house, including a few things to organize Brody's room. I still have enough money left over to buy new blinds for both of the kids' rooms. I am so excited!

Here are pictures from our adventerous day. The organization project took HOURS!

I caught him coloring on his arms in the office with a highlighter. This created the idea to clean the house!
As I was trying to pack up Brody's winter clothes, he was pulling them out of the rubbermaid and throwing them back on the floor.
He decided the rubbermaid was better off used as a boat.
He didn't want me taking pictures of him in "MY BOAT!"
"NOOOO! MY BOAT! MY BOAT!"
He finally gave up and got out of the boat, because the picture taking was too traumatic.
His new toy shelf!
Brody doing what he does best...eating a "popsynal!" (sugar free this time!)
I finally got the curtains hung. Every time I would get a screw in the wall, Brody would clap and say "Yaaahhh Mamma!"
His new clothes organizer! I love this idea! That way, when Nick asks me for the millionth time, "where are his clothes?" I can say "Tuesday's clothes are ready to go, dear, in the Tuesday cubby!" (Notice the sarcasm?) Love you, Nick!
What a rough day, he had to take a break!

You can see the closet floor!
Brody decided that shoes should not go in the shoe organizer....
They are much better off on the rug on the floor, where they usually end up at night. Oh well, I can't expect the kid to change overnight. :)
I am very proud of all that we got accomplished this weekend, and Nick was so excited to see the house as clean as it was.
Other accomplishments on Saturday:
  • Trip to Wal Mart and actually did not forget ANYTHING
  • I got almost all of Peyton's laundry done
  • Picked up Peyton's hamper and valance from the Walmart.com department (they have been sitting there since the end of April), and actually got her valance hung.
  • Exterminators came and NO MORE ANTS! Woohoo!!!!

Updated Belly Pics

Here are some updated belly pics for those of you who don't get the pleasure of seeing my big belly on a regular basis. :)

Strip Tease!

Brody decided the other night that he didn't want to wear his shirt anymore. Here he is doing a "strip tease" for Nick and I in the kitchen. We were cracking up as he was dancing around taking his shirt off.

Krispie Kreme

The other morning (on my birthday), I decided that I wanted a Cinnabon for breakfast! I have not craved much this pregnancy, and have done so well with my weight gain, that I decided to give in. I told Nick to watch Brody, while I went out and got Cinnabons. I drove into Rogers at 8:30 AM, and pulled into an empty parking lot. APPARENTLY, Cinnabon does not open in time for breakfast! Dissapointed, yet still craving a sugary breakfast, I headed over to Krispie Kreme. Now, the last time I took Brody there, he wanted nothing to do with a doughnut. This was him this time: "5 Should Be Sufficient!"
"MMMMMM!!!"
Notice how he ONLY gets the original glazed?

"Here mom! You want some?"

This was after he threw a fit when I took all but the one he was eating away and put them in the box.

Ben & Jerry's and Coke

Tonight was a Ben & Jerry's and Coke night for Nick and I. I was put on official maternity leave yesterday, and today was my first day home with Brody. As much as I was looking forward to it, it turned out to be one of those days that I wish I was working. He hasn't been feeling well, so I understand his grumpiness...but the tantrums? Holy cow! I took him to Taco bell to get a cheese roll up and I could get a burrito. Well, every time I tried to take a bite of my food, he would scream "NOOOOO!!!" at the top of his lungs. He wound up throwing an all-out-screaming-bloody-murder-tantrum in the middle of Taco Bell. I was so embarrassed, that we wound up leaving our food and running out of the restraunt.

Then, when we got home, the tantrums continued. I would not allow him to have a popsicle, and when he asked for a treat, I offered grapes. Big mistake! Nick and I are really trying to limit his sugar right now, and I think he is going through withdrawals. For the next 4 1/2 hours straight, he threw tantrums. Nick and I finally put him to bed at 6:45 (which of course caused another fit). As soon as we were done with prayers and story time, I left Nick to tend to him, and I went to the store and bought some Phish Food, Half Baked, and a 2 liter of caffeine free Coke (and NOT the diet stuff!!!)

The day has ended well though. I just went to check on Brody and he looks like the angel that he is. We all have our days!

Blast from the past!

I am currently working on a special project right now, and going through old pictures. Here are just some of the ones that I thought were cute of myself from when I was younger. They make me even more excited about having a little girl!

Peyton's Newest Pictures

These are a little late, but here are the pictures from my 32 week ultrasound. They did this ultrasound after I had been exposed to 5ths disease.

She was able to stop the video and catch this picture...if she would have caught it a second later, she was smiling! So cute!

It's been a while...

I have not blogged in a LONG time. I realize this. I am back now though, and ready to get going on this thing again. :) Here are some of the latest on the Petersen family in a nutshell:

1.) I have shingles. Stress has overcome me as of late, and I have shingles. The good news is, we were recently approved for ArHealthnet insurance coverage, which is MUCH better coverage than we had before, and the prescription that I would have paid $265 for, only cost us $30!

2.) Brody is starting to speak in sentences. They mostly start with "I want," "I need," and "I got" and usually end in "popsynal" (popcycle). "I want popsynal," "I need popsynal," and "I got popsynal." These sentences tend to end in me saying "no, not til' after dinner." and him screaming "I NEED POPSYNAL!"

3.) Nick is working his tail off doing carpet cleaning and water restoration. He and his business partner decided to divide the work, so Nick is completely over carpet cleaning, and assists in the water restoration. He has been very busy with jobs, marketing, and book keeping. He seems to be really enjoying managing his "department." I am so proud of him, and enjoy helping him in anyway I can.

4.) Peyton's room is almost done. (I have pictures!)

5.) Only 5 more weeks left until our little angel arrives. We are ready and getting very excited!

6.) Only 16 more school days! Need I say more???

Here are some pictures
