PEYTON UPDATE!!!

Wow, it has been so long since I have blogged! When we came home from vacation, we were without Internet for 3 days...I felt like I was living in the 90's again!

I went to the doctor Tuesday and they did another ultrasound on her, and said that the swelling in her kidneys is going down. The doc said that 99% of the time when the swelling begins to go down at this point, then the problem usually clears itself up before birth. Just to be safe though, they are going to do an ultrasound on Peyton before we are sent home from the hospital, to ensure that her kidneys are working properly.

We had a scare last night when the nurse called and left a message saying that she wanted to talk to me about my glucose test results. Of course, when I called her back, the office was closed. So, I called again this morning and thankfully I had passed my glucose test, but my iron levels are very low. The doc has now put me on 2 prenatals a day PLUS 2 iron pills a day. Nick and I are also increasing the amount of iron we are eating in vegetables like spinach, kidney beans, and red potatoes.

Nick has started his diet this week and has lost 5 POUNDS!!! I am so proud of him! We have cut out the sugars and sweets. I have also shed my extra vacation weight by eating healthy with him. Now we just need to exercise more. I keep planning on doing prenatal yoga and pilates, but it is so hard with Brody because he wants to climb on my stomach when I am laying on the floor!

Oh, back to Peyton...she is almost 3 POUNDS! She is a BIG baby, but the doctors aren't concerned. We got 3-D pictures (which I'll post when I get them scanned in at Sam's), and you can see that she already has chubby little cheeks! What a cutie!

I'll write more later and post some new pics up as well. I have a lot of blogging to catch up with!

Hamburger buns for breakfast???

We have a bread drawer in our house, and since Brody was about 10 months old, he has known where the bread is located, and how to get to it. The other morning, he woke up REALLY early, and walked into the kitchen to the bread drawer. He pulled out the hamburger buns and looked at me and said "Bread? Eat?" I thought..."Why not? It is 6:00 a.m. afterall!" It's so funny the simple things in life that please children. I made Brody cinnamon toast this morning for a Sunday treat, and he wouldn't touch it. He probably would have rather had a hamburger bun with ketchup! :)

Brody's Big Boy Room

So, Nick and I really worked hard in Brody's big boy room this weekend. We got it painted, wall papered, and decaled. Monday, Nick is going to clean the carpets, and Nana is bringing the mattress. We have the matching sheets and comforter and drapes as well! This is our progress from this weekend:

It Nose! It Nose!!!

This morning, we woke up to a winter wonderland. When Brody woke me up at 6:45, I opened his blind and showed him all of the beautiful snow. He got so excited and exclaimed "NOSE! NOSE!" Now, he keeps going to the windows and showing us all of the "nose". I will post pictures soon!

BOOK TAG!!!

Book Tag......You're it!
This is what you do:1. Pick up the nearest book (with at least 123 pgs.).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next 3 sentences.
5. Tag 5 people.

I am at work right now, and the first book I picked up is "Behaviorally Troubled Children, Adolescents & Young Adults." However, page 123 is a "notes" page, so I will have to pick another book. Okay, I pick the DSM IV TR: "Younger Children may not get express specific fears of definite threats to parents, home, or themselvs. As children get older, worries or fears are often of specific dangers (e.g., kidnapping, mugging). Anxiety and anticipation of spearation become manifest in mid-childhood." This was on Separation Anxiety Disorder.

Okay, I tag Mary, Cheramie, Christina, Aimee, and Megan!

Brody's First Bike Ride

Tonight Nick took Brody on his first bike ride. While playing outside, Brody went into the garage and wanted to sit on the bike and kept saying "vroom vroom." Nick put Brody on the bike and pushed him around a little bit, but then he lowered the seat and got on the bike with him. They rode around (VERY SLOWLY) the sidewalk for about 30 minutes. Brody loved this new adventure and was not scared at all. It looks like he will be getting a tricycle (and a helmet) for his birthday after all.
Look at me!!!
My first bike ride...I am a pro!
I love spending time with my Daddy!
CHEEEEEEEESE!!!
Weeeeeeee!!! This is fun!

CHEEEEEEEESE!!!!

Brody has figured out the camera. When the camera is around, if you say "Cheese," you get your picture taken. This morning, while checking my e-mail, he grabbed the camera, looked into it and kept saying cheese. For some reason though, it just wasn't working! At least not until Mommy got a hold of the camera and took this picture. This is definitely one for the scrapbook!

New Belly Pics!!!

So, these are kinda dorky because I am taking them in the mirror, but Nick was at work, and I wanted to get some new pictures for my blog. These are taken at 24 1/2 weeks! Also, check out the freshly painted bathroom. I have been on a painting streak this weekend. :o)
