GIN-NASTICS!

A couple of weeks ago, Nick and I were over off of Pleasant Grove Crossing, and saw The Little Gym. We see commercials for this gym all the time on PBS, while watching Sesame Street. Ever since the Olympics were on this summer, Brody has been obsessed with Gymnastics (or in his words...GIN-NASTICS). He attempts summer saults, hangs from bars and swings on them, and tries to do head stands on the couch. We thought we would stop by and see how much it would cost to enroll him and what they had to offer. The cost was high, but they offered a free trial class.

Friday was Brody's free trial class and he LOVED it! Although it is too pricey right now, it gives us something to focus on and save for. I love how they use specific positive reinforcement to not only praise the children, but to build their self esteem. It is non competitive, so the kids are not forced to do the skills they are learning. They play with the parachute, balls, bubbles, and bells. All of which are some of Brody's favorite things. They also sing songs, dance around, walked the balance beam, did flips on the bars, and started to learn back summersaults, and do free play on the equipment. Here are some pictures from our trial day (sorry they are not very good).

Bar time!

My Little Monkey
Parachute!
Galluping
Touch Your Toes!
Bell time!
P.S. Any grandmas or grandpas out there wondering what to get Brody for Christmas...a gift certificate to go towards his Little Gym membership would be a very useful gift! :o)

Sydney has been asking us to put her in gymnastics but with the cost I keep trying to procrastinate. Maybe Sydney could teach Brody a couple of things someday :0}
