Oh, the joys of bed rest!

Yesterday was my first day home with Brody in a while on a weekday. Normally, I would have been THRILLED, but...being on bedrest limits the fun activities we can do together. I brought my pillows to the couch in the morning, turned on Sesame Street, and our day began. Generally, Brody does well with leaving his toys in his room. He will pull a few out here and there, but today, he knew something was up, and that mommy wasn't going to feel like playing on the floor of his bedroom with him. So, my bright little child decided to bring his room to ME! Fully equiped with his pillow and blanket, so that he could enjoy some quality cuddle time on the couch.

First Blog

Well, this is my first time doing this. I've been a Myspace and Facebook fanatic for the past 2 years, but have never taken the time to do a blog. Please, be patient with me as I learn to do this.

Nick and I have been married for almost 2 1/2 years now and we have the sweetest little boy, Brody Robert. Brody was born on July 10, 2006 and he is the light of our lives. Nick is currently running his own carpet cleaning business, which is beginning to flourish. It was rough going there for a while at the beginning. I decided to go back to work last year to allow my husband the opportunity to follow his dreams, and get out of retail and be able to run his own business. While hard at times, it is worth it to see what a difference it has made in our lives. Nick is home more, and is much happier. It is looking like I will be able to go to 2 days a week next school year, which is ideal. I love my job, but want to be home more, so it is a win-win situation.

We are currently expecting our second baby in June, 2008. I am almost 12 weeks along, and things are kind of rough. On top of being sick, I have had a lot of cramping and spotting lately, and went to the E.R. Friday night. I was given fluids to treat my dehydration, a Rho-Gham shot (my blood type is A-, and with any type of spotting during pregnancy, my body can treat the baby as an infection, and try to kill the baby off...the Rho-Gham is supposed to prevent this from happening). We also were able to see our sweet little baby on an ultra-sound. I forgot how amazing it is to see that tiny little life playing around in my tummy. It brought tears to my eyes, and I never thought I would feel that overwhelmed by another little human again. It is true that you love all of your kids the same! The heart rate was good and the baby looked good! None the less, I was put on bed rest until Wednesday, so I have been living on the couch for the past 48 hours. Not fun!

I am getting long winded now, so I will write more later.
