Dear Peyton,

Today was a super fun day! We went to Bentley's birthday party and danced, played, and ate birthday cake! You had a lot of fun playing with the other kids. You loved running around screaming as loud as you could. I love watching you grow and learn each day. I love watching your personality blossom.

One of your favorite things to do is call the "troll" to come and visit. You say "Abracadabra" and daddy transforms into the "troll", who is one of your favorite friends. The troll talks to you and plays with you and you think he is so funny.

Tonight, you were taking a bath, and said "uh oh!" Daddy asked if you had to go potty, and you nodded your head yes, and he took you to the potty. You wound up going #2 on the potty TWICE tonight! You are learning so fast!

I love you, baby girl!
Love always,
Mommy

Dear Brody,

Today was yet another fun day! We had Bentley's Birthday party to go to today, so we went shopping in the morning and bought her a singing Alvin doll, from Alvin and the Chipmunks. You and Peyton had so much fun playing with that doll in the store, but you were so generous and had no problem giving it to Bentley as a gift.

Her birthday party was Chipmunk themed, and you all sang and danced to the chipmunk's CD, and you ate cake, played with a pinata, and you helped her open presents.

After the party, Daddy and I asked you to take a nap (which you don't do much of anymore), and you went to your room and went straight to sleep. I am so impressed with your desire to follow directions and obey these days. You are such a great kid!

We went to see How to Train a Dragon tonight. It was such a cute movie! You were on the edge of your seat, and kept asking "what's he going to do?", "what's happening next?" I love your enthusiasm!

Love always,
Mommy

Dear Peyton,

Big news, girlfriend! Tonight, you pee-peed on the potty for the FIRST time! I am so proud of you! You saw Bentley using the big girl potty, so you pointed at the little potty and said "me! me!" I didn't really think you would do anything, but I took your diaper off and set you on the potty anyway. Lo and behold, a few minutes later, you had gone potty in the training toilet! You were so excited, you were giving high fives and dancing around! Right now, you are only 21 months old. I am so proud of you!

Good job, baby girl!

Love always,
Mommy

Dear Brody,

Today was such a fun day! We started it out by taking a trip to Hobby Lobby with Grandma and Tashya. You wanted so many different toys, but you settled on a tiny train set. Once we got it home, though, we couldn't get the battery in the train to make it run, and you eventually quit trying to play with it.

After our adventures to Hobby Lobby, we came home, and I had to get ready for work. Today was a short day though, which was good. Daddy stayed home with you, and took you and Peyton on an hour and a half walk. You guys walked to the park, to the baseball fields, to the swimming pool, and finally, to the gas station, where Daddy bought you guys a push up Popsicle.

You got so much sun during the day that your cheeks were so red at night! April, Tommy, Bentley, and Cooper came over for dinner, and we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs. You and Bentley play so well together! It is so cute!

The highlight of my night was after the Lowden's left, you were watching a movie in your play room. I went in and told you that you could stay up late watching the movie, if you went straight to your bed after it was over. About a half hour later, daddy went to check on you, and your movie was turned off, and you were in your bed, asleep, with Peyton. We were so impressed with your ability to follow rules, that we told you that you could sleep in our room as a treat! You were so excited! You came running to our room with a big smile on your face!

As we were laying in bed, you started saying that something was stinky. You were upset and you couldn't figure out what smelt so bad. You said "This is the worst smell I've ever smelled in my life!" Daddy and I couldn't figure out what it was either, and we couldn't smell it. So, finally I asked "Brody, did you toot?" and you said "OHHH YEAH! I forgot!!!" Hahaha! We were all laughing so hard!

Thanks for being such a fun son!!

I love you,
Love always,
Mommy

Dear Bubby,

I am writing this blog, in hopes of keeping memories of your life in written form. Also, as a solid reminder of how much I love you.

You are such a sweet spirited child, and so fun to be with. I can't tell you how much I enjoy spending time with you. You love to play, and you love to cuddle. You are such a wonderful brother, and a caring son. I love when somebody gets hurt, you hurry to them to comfort them. My favorite, though, is when I wake up in the morning, or get home from work, and you run to me, throw your arms around me, and tell me how much you love me.

Today, I worked most of the day, so I didn't have much time with you. I'm sorry for that, but please understand why I am doing it. I hope it will only be for a short period of time, while your dad and I strive to get out of debt, and follow the Prophet's teachings to stay debt free, and create a savings account. I do enjoy my job, but nothing compares to being at home with you and Peyton.

Daddy told me some about your day. You guys delivered my Scentsy packages in the morning, and then, in the afternoon, Daddy and Tashya took you to the gym and you were swimming like a little fish! Later you told me that you "almost shrinked all the way to the bottom." Haha! I love your little words you say when you are not quite sure of the real word...in this case, you said "shrinked" instead of "sunk."

Tomorrow, I only work 4 hours, so I am hoping to be able to spend the rest of the time doing nothing but loving and playing with you!!

I love you baby boy!
Love always,
Mommy

Dear Peyton,

I have started this blog with the purpose of writing daily letters to you, to remind you throughout your life, how much I love you. How much I have loved you as a child, and how much I love you as you grow. I have attempted journals before, and I have attempted a similar blog to this one before, but have failed miserably. However, being in the Hospice field now has shown me the importance of always documenting your lives, and reminding you constantly of how much I love you. My hope is for Daddy to also contribute to this blog, and help record your history.

I don't have much to say about your life today, as I was at work all day. :( I left for work right after you woke up, and returned home 9 hours later, only to leave with Daddy to do some carpet cleaning. I hear you had a fun day with Daddy, Tashya, and Grandma. I'm sorry that I am working right now, and hope that it doesn't ever cause for resentment later. Know that I am doing it because I love you, and I want to be able to provide you with everything you need. If it means me working for a few years so we can fully be out of debt, I will do that.

When I came home today, however, you screamed "mommy! mommy!" and threw your arms around my neck. You had my pink lip gloss on your lips (not sure where you got that from), and you started giving me big, sweet, yummy, little baby kisses. I love those kisses!

Unfortunately, when I got home today, you were asleep. Luckily though, I only work 4 hours tomorrow, and the rest of the day is devoted to YOU!

I love you more than life, baby girl!

Love always,
Mommy

I love him!!!

I was so blessed the day that I met Nick. He is my best friend, and he makes me believe in soul mates. We have never had a picture taken together, just the 2 of us, so one day this fall, when we were feeling kinda cute, we went and got our pictures taken. This one came out pretty cute.

My pregnancy pics with Peyton

I was at the studio the other day, and was looking through some of my old photos that I have had taken, but haven't had printed. Of those, were my pregnancy pictures I got taken with Peyton. I want to get some of these printed and put in her room. I was HUGE, but these were taken the day BEFORE I delivered her.

Peyton's Hair Cut

About a week and a half ago, I picked Peyton up from my in-laws in the afternoon. Like any other typical day, her hair was ratty and matted with food (NOT my in-laws fault...Peyton likes to smear food in her hair and anything else she can get her hands on). I couldn't stand it anymore, so I ran her over to Bella Mia and had April (not my usual hair girl, but she did a great job) chop her hair off! She looks SOOOOO cute!

Her hair cut made me smile and remember my Papa. When I was a little girl, I always wanted to have long, beautiful hair, like a princess. My Papa on the other hand, always wanted me to have short hair. He used to tease me and tell me when I went to bed, he was going to cut my hair short. Now I know why he loved short hair so much. Peyton looks just like me, and she is sooooo stinkin' cute with short hair. Papa knew what he was talking about. All I can think is that he is looking down on her and is smiling at what a beautiful, sweet, little girl she is.
